Sunshine Coast Neuro Rehab provide mobile physiotherapy services for people with neurological conditions, such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, functional neurological disorder, brain and spinal cord injuries, and other neurological disorders.
Our significant experience and knowledge in neuro rehab allow us to tailor therapy programs to help maximise your function, independence and quality of life.
We understand that every client is different, so we take the time to listen to your needs, assess your function, and create a personalised plan for achieving your goals. We work with people who require both short- and long-term rehab.
We also offer a telehealth service.
At your first visit, your physio will spend time getting to know you – including more about your condition, circumstances and what you’d like to achieve. Family members and carers are welcome to participate throughout your assessment and therapy.
Next, we’ll assess your physical function, looking at things like your walking, transfers, balance and coordination. Our caring therapists will ensure you always feel safe and comfortable.
Then we’ll talk to you about the assessment findings and make a plan for working towards your goals. We will consider your preferences and be honest and realistic about expectations and timeframes.
If we feel you can benefit from input by other clinical experts, we’ll discuss this with you and help organise referrals to trusted professionals. These may include occupational therapists, dietitians, podiatrists, speech language pathologists and community nurses.
During ongoing appointments, we’ll work alongside you to target your therapy goals. This will look different for every person, but may include things like balance training, functional task practice, vestibular exercises or specific strength and stretching exercises.
We’ll monitor your progress and adjust your program as necessary, always considering your needs and circumstances.
Good communication is vital for optimal outcomes, so with your permission, we’ll stay in contact with other people involved in your care, such as your GP, neurologist, support people and other allied health professionals.
SCNR’s director has more than 25 years’ physio experience across New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland. She has many years of experience working with clients with neurological conditions, across inpatient, outpatient and community settings in the private and public sector.
She has worked across the continuum of care, so she understands the different stages patients may be going through.
Our director has a research Masters degree in physiotherapy and has published a paper about people with stroke.
She was involved in setting up an award-winning oncology rehab program in Melbourne. She carefully selects her team, and network of recommended providers, based on their experience and dedication.
SCNR takes a best practice, evidence-based approach to ensure every client has the maximum chance of achieving their therapy goals. We are committed to the highest standards of ethical and professional practice. We value providing individualised, quality care over seeing large numbers of clients.
We understand that getting to a clinic can be costly and difficult. We also know that therapy is most effective when it is functional and meaningful. Doing rehab in your own environment allows you to work on your goals in the place where you live and function daily.
With more than 25 years’ physio experience, SCNR’s director has a passion for helping people achieve better health, function and quality of life. She has worked across the healthcare continuum, giving her a breadth of understanding about patients’ needs and concerns.
Although she has worked in various physio fields, she most enjoys supporting people with neurological conditions, and other rehabilitation needs such as recovery from prolonged illness or multi-trauma injuries.
Sunshine Coast Neuro Rehab focuses on quality and care rather than high client turnover. We value caring for our staff and providing a quality service over maximising daily client numbers.
SCNR are excited to work with people on the Sunshine Coast seeking premium quality rehab for neurological disorders.
